Strange Brew, the Schlafly Bottleworks cult film series, is screening D.A. Pennebaker’s documentary of the David Bowie’s 1973 Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars tour. Shit is insane. Of course, if you’re a Bowiephile like yours truly, you’ve already watched bootlegs of this at least half a million time (or, y’know, just watch the entire thing for free on the YouTubes), but it’s a rare treat indeed to get the big projection treatment of a lithe, young Bowie squeezing into inhumanly tight leotards and move like a tiger in vaseline.
